CENTRO DE ATENDIMENTO E PESQUISA EM MUSICOTERAPIA EM UMA INSTITUIÇÃO DE ENSINO SUPERIOR NA CIDADE DE CURITIBA

Abstract

The objective of the present article is to relate the history and the operation of an Assistance and Research Center in Music Therapy (CAEMT) in the city of Curitiba. It also brings quantitative data from the treatments performed with the community in the city of Curitiba in the first semester of 2010. Assuming that the Higher Education Institutions according to Guidelines and Basis Law (LDB) should stimulate the current knowledge about the world’s problems and offer specialized services to the community, we describe in this article how the CAEMT has been structuring its practices in the assistance to community, open experiences in music therapy and the research work developed with the undergraduate students of Music Therapy.
