With this in mind, the aim of the research was to investigate the importance of music in the daily lives of deaf people. For this, a questionnaire was applied, with open and closed questions using the Google Forms tool. The work was submitted to and approved by the Ethics Committee / Plataforma Brasil and can be found at 80787617.0.0000.0094. The target audience was deaf people over 18 years of age who agreed with the informed consent form. 47 responses were computed and analyzed. Based on a reflection of the research results, can be noticed the need to elaborate and adapt methods and techniques of music therapy and education music, which emphasize the preferences and ways of experiencing music punctuated by the participants. And, in this way, instrumentalize music therapists and music educators, to attend deaf people, providing a better relationship between this subject and music and their insertion in society.
