The aim of this study was to investigate significant achievements in music therapy treatment to promote the socialization of the person with aphasia. For this a literature interview related to "language and socialization" and "music therapy and aphasia" were reviewed. The subjective components of aphasia were defended, understanding that the social relationship is often impaired by this disorder. A semi-structured interview was conducted with the relatives of a aphasia person who participated in music therapy appointments at Consultations and Studies Center in Music Therapy "Clotilde Leinig" - CAEMT/UNESPAR established that music therapy, directly and indirectly, is a powerful ally in the treatment of aphasia since the language rehabilitation, and also the accessibility to other ways to communicate, contributes to social reestablishment.
