Abstract

This article aims to identify and establish intersections and contributions between Music Therapy and flow (a particular state of
consciousness whose theory was developed, structured and systematized by the Hungarian psychologist Mihaly sikszentmihalyi from previous studies). The study was built on a bibliographic search developed based on material already prepared, consisting mainly of books and scientific articles on both themes. Throughout the process of constructing the article, it was found that although the texts dealing with Music Therapy and flow are scarce, especially in Brazil, music therapy practice is permeated by experiences that embrace fundamental characteristics of the flow state. Thus, it is proposed to establish possible parallels between these two practices in addition to studying how the resources of flow can enhance the performance of music therapy.
