MUSIC THERAPY AND REHABILITATION: PILOT STUDY WITH TRAUMA ORTHOPEDIC AFFECTED PATIENT

Abstract

Music therapy is an area of operation growth in the Brazil and worldwide. The purpose of this research is to investigate about music therapy in rehabilitation, and more specifically in the treatment of fracture of the radio and check the different uses of musical instruments and music in the rehabilitation of patients traumatológicos. To do so, it will examine how musical instruments are used in rehabilitation. To give visibility to this issue, we find some benefits of its use in the treatment of patients with wrist fracture. The methodology used in this research was the case study, where through direct observation were analyzed items that would make it possible to achieve the proposed objectives. For this study, only one patient was selected, allowing greater concentration on the object of study. In all sessions the therapist was present to issue reports with the clinical evolution of the patient. It is concluded that utilization efficiency of music therapy, musical instruments, since, during ten sessions, there was a gain of movement of the wrist, through the use of such instruments and music.
