This article proposes a reflection on the work of music therapy with people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) by analyzing the aspects involved in the care provided to a child with ASD. The therapeutic intervention took place through interactive music therapy, and the musical improvisation approach out lined the structure of the sessions. With reference to the aspects presented in the an amnesis carried out with the guardians, the observations made during the first sessions and the gains made through out the process, the conclusions indicate a significant evolution in the patient's engagement, capacity for emotional expression and integration between the body and music, suggesting the effectiveness of the therapeutic approach employed.
