This article is a reflection on aspects related to the planning of group interventions in music therapy. Various expressions, behaviors and relationships are intertwined, providing members of the group to revive excerpts of life experiences that constitute significant elements for music therapeutic listening and analyzing. The intervention planning is a basic step for the assertiveness of the proposal to be undertaken by the music therapist, due to the complexity of the phenomena inherent to any group, and those that are specific to the musical experiences. Planning helps to keep the focus on the intervention, favors the effectiveness of the action, minimizes potential risks, and contributes to the evaluation of results, always having in mind the compliance of ethical issues.
