“COMIGO NÃO, VIOLÃO!”: MUSICOTERAPIA COM MULHERES EM SITUAÇÃO DE VIOLÊNCIA DOMÉSTICA

Abstract
This research aims at investigating the applicability of music therapy in the treatment of emotional damage – depression, anxiety states, stress, low self-esteem and social isolation – resulting from domestic violence and emotional rehabilitation of these women, thereby providing an improvement in the condition and quality of their lives.The research is of qualitative nature, given the regulations on research involving humans, registered with the Ethics in Research of Colleges EST under No. 031/2009. Began in March 11, 2010, with 16 meetings, until the 1st of July 2010. Participating in the music therapy sessions six women in situations of domestic violence, considered capable, aged between 25 and 53 years. The configuration of the attendance was of group sessions, with weekly and 45 minutes. Evaluation tools were used the analysis of the audio recording and two questionnaires. According to the positive results obtained in this study, we found that music therapy can be a safe and effective method to treat the emotional damage to women in situations of domestic violence present.
