CARRER PLANNING IN MUSIC THERAPY: DEVELOPING AN ACTION PLAN

Abstract

The objective of this article is to promote a reflection on the career planning of the music therapist in Brazil, presenting a suggestion of a plan of necessary actions with goals stipulated within the professional field. It is also intended to present an overview of the consolidation of Music Therapy in Brazil, through the Brazilian Classification of Occupations, DACUM Matrix, Music Therapy in SUS, SUAS and in Integrative and Complementary Practices. In general, it is important for the music therapist to reflect on his professional plan, avoiding stagnation and outdating with regard to his training. It is recommended that these issues be addressed in undergraduate and graduate courses in Music Therapy.
