This is a scope review aimed at analyzing music therapy interventions conducted with elderly individuals in the Brazilian context. The methodology of the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) and the PRISMA-ScR checklist were adopted, and the search was conducted on the Capes Journals Portal and in the journals available on the website of the Brazilian Union of Music Therapy Associations. The descriptors used were music therapy, elderly, aging, old age, and gerontology. Inclusion criteria were original articles, experience reports, case studies conducted by music therapists in the Brazilian context, published in the last ten years, and exclusion criteria were review articles, theoretical reflection articles, dissertations and theses, books, gray literature, protocols, technical materials, and others not aligned with the study’s objectives. Eight studies were included, and the results showed that music therapy positively contributed to the health and well-being of the elderly, with a prevalence, among others, of interventions in long-stay institutions, weekly sessions lasting 1 hour, and a female audience. There is a need to encourage and expand music therapy research in the field of gerontology.
