Abstract

The creation of the Music Therapy Brazilian Journal comes along with thatof the Brazilian Union of Music Therapy Associations in 1995, its firstissue has been published in 1996 though. This article presents aspects ofthe publication and discusses its role in the process of construction ofmusic therapists' identity and their struggle for recognition. BothCharles Taylor and Axel Honneth are the main theory references regarding identity and recognition.
