THE REALM OF HEALTH IN THE CONTEXT OF SOCIAL MUSIC THERAPY PRACTICE

Abstract

This research sought to know the perception professionals, who participate in social projects and units of the social service system, have about the promotion and production of health in Music Therapy practices in their workplace. This is a qualitative study which was grounded on the social and community Music Therapy theoretical framework. Semi-structured interviews were used to gather data which analysis included categorization and thematic analysis of the obtained answers. According to participant’s perception, the realm of health was related to the following topics: meeting, new perspectives, fun and personal expression, which had been highlighted in the analysis process.
