MUSIC THERAPY APPLIED TO PEOPLE WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

Abstract

This study aims to present and discuss the results of a systematic review on the application of music with people with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD). The review examined important music therapy sources. The review shows diversity in terms of the use of music therapy methods, types of music and interventions, and demonstrates evidences of the benefits of the application of music with this population and verifies that this is an area with strong concentration of practices and studies.
