Abstract

This article is intended to present the first part of the process of translation, adaptation and validation for use in Brazil of the scale Improvisation Assessment Profiles (IAPs). This first part discusses the basic features of the assessment, the six profiles of analysis and the procedures for applying the IAPs. The presentation of this instrument is based on the original instrument and its update performed in 2000.
