The aim of this review is to provide a synthesis of the literature on music intervention, done by music therapists and by professionals from other health areas, for people with cochlear implant (CI). A systematic review of the literature was conducted and showed that music has the potential to facilitate the rehabilitation of the five hearing developmental stages: awareness, discrimination, identification, acknowledgement, and comprehension. This process can guarantee to the person with cochlear implant (CI) a better physical and emotional integration in the world and, consequently, a better quality of life.
