Abstract

Article on Music Therapy techniques called Audiobiography and Musical Autobiography, applied to the recreation of songs. We present a history of the development of these techniques (Bruscia, 1998; Ruud, 1998; Brandão, Millecco & Millecco, 2001), followed by a bibliographic survey on theutilization of Musical Autobiography and the recreation of songs in Music Therapy, in addition to examples of collages and parodies of autobiographical songs created by students from the Art Therapy Graduation and Post-Graduation Courses at Clínica POMAR (Faculdade Vicentina / Rio de Janeiro). The article presents practical-theoretical contributions to the Music Therapy area, illustrating how the Musical Autobiography technique can be used in the recreation of songs, aiming to increase self-knowledge, the construction of musical identities, the empowerment of subjects and the rewriting of personal histories.
