Report of Internship in Clinical Music Therapy: Application of Technological Resources with Patients Diagnosed with ASD

Abstract

This experience report presents the activities developed during Clinical Internship II in Music Therapy, carried out between February and May 2025 at a clinic specialized in the care of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil. The experience focused on the follow-up of two patients with different clinical profiles, highlighting the use of technological resources as mediators of music therapy interventions. The activities were based on theoretical frameworks from Music Therapy and Neuroscience, integrating academic knowledge with clinical practice. Resources such as Chrome Music Lab and Snap Core First were used in recreation, improvisation, and sound exploration activities. Throughout the process, improvements were observed in communication, social interaction, emotional expression, motor skills, and behavioral organization. The experience demonstrated the importance of the therapeutic relationship, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the integration of music and technology, expanding intervention possibilities and promoting greater engagement of participants in the therapeutic process.
